Frequently Asked Questions
What is an escape room?
They are live-action, immersive experiences. Think of our “escape rooms” as like starring in a movie, where you and your friends and family solve puzzles and decipher clues to complete the mission.
Are we really locked in a room?
You are never locked in a room at The Escape Hatch. You can always leave the room whenever you need to.
How much does it cost?
The price is $34 per person.
There is no charge for children under the age of 5 years old and does not count towards the minimum number of people required to book a room. Children under 3 must be kept securely in a carrier or stroller at all times while in the room
Occasionally, we offer special holiday games that will have their own pricing. These can be found on the booking page or on the room description pages when available.
What are the minimum and the maximum number of players?
- Bubba’s Basement Bargains – min is 2 people, max is 6 people

- HaZard Pay – min is 4 people, max is 8 people
- Smoke and Mirrors – min is 2 people, max is 6 people

Are the games private?
Yes. You will not have to play with strangers.
How long does the experience last?
Following a short safety briefing and introduction to the mission, your team has 60 minutes to complete the mission.
What if we don’t finish within the time limit?
Don’t worry! Not every team will finish within 60 minutes. If you run out of time, your Game Master will talk you through the rest of the steps in the game that you didn’t complete, so that you can see how the mission ends.
Are there any age restrictions?
All games must have at least one paid adult, 18 years or older, in the room at all times. The adult is responsible for any damages or items lost during the game. Everyone in the room under the age of 18 must be added onto an adult participant’s waiver.
For Exit Protocol and Bubba’s Basement Bargains all ages are welcome. Children 5 and under are free and do not count towards the minimum required to book a game. Children under the age of 3 years old must be kept securely in a carrier or stroller at all times while in the room.
No children under 8 years old are permitted in HaZard Pay. However, the game includes loud noises, darkness, scare and strobe effects, blood and gore, and rude humor and therefore is not recommended for children under the age of 13, or those that are easily frightened.
No children under 10 years old are allowed in Smoke and Mirrors.
Where can I park?
It can be hard to find parking on the weekends, but limited FREE VIP PARKING is available in front of The Escape Hatch during your game.
If no parking attendant is on duty, drive past the No Parking/Special Event signs and look for the marked Escape Room parking spaces.
If there is a parking attendant on duty, tell them you have a reservation at The Escape Hatch.
All vehicles must be moved 15 minutes after your game ends.
What if I am running late for my reservation?
Your reservation time is your game start time. Due to other groups having scheduled reservations throughout the day, we cannot allow late arrivals. It just wouldn’t be fair to make the group after yours have to wait.
We ask that you show up 10-15 minutes early to sign your waivers, go to the restroom, etc.
Please allow time for traffic (I-4 can be brutal), as your game will start on time, with or without you! The Escape Hatch does not offer refunds, but we will allow you to reschedule. We do try to accommodate same day rescheduling for late arrivals as much as possible, but due to other reservations, you may not be able to be rescheduled the same day.
What if I need to cancel my reservation?
You are able to reschedule your reservation to another date and time if you notify us 24 hours in advance. We do try to accommodate same day rescheduling for late arrivals as much as possible, but due to other reservations, you may not be able to be rescheduled the same day.
What is your refund policy?
We do not offer refunds. There are also no refunds for group size additions or reductions after your booking is made. Any players added on the day of the game, pay the same per person rate as the participants in the original booking.
What do I need to bring to the game?
We recommend comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (you’re on a mission after all!), but you do not have to bring anything else. Cellular devices are allowed in our rooms, but you cannot take photos or videos. Food and drinks are prohibited. There is a basket in each room where you can place items that you do not want to carry during your game.
Can we get hints if we're stuck?
Your assigned game host (a.k.a. game master) will be watching and listening to you the whole time. If you get stuck your group can ask for a hint. We offer unlimited hints with no time penalties.
Can we fill out our waivers ahead of time?
Absolutely! Thank you for asking. Click Here to access the waivers.
